Depending on an individual’s needs, Launch provides additional specialized services for those seeking career counseling.

Job Shadowing

Gives high school students a taste of the job they think they might enjoy. Launch counselors work with local employers to set up a Job Shadow experience. You will follow an employee to observe what a typical workday looks like and be given the opportunity to ask questions and decide if it’s a career you would like to pursue. It’s a great way to gain firsthand experience in what it’s like to work in a specific occupation – before you spend time and money on a degree.

Academic Coaching

Focuses on the support structures high school students need to succeed in college, including:

  • Motivation and goal setting.
  • Organization and effective study tactics.
  • Time management and activity mapping.
  • Executive functioning support.
  • Growth mindset and managing academic anxiety.
  • Self-Advocacy.

Special Accommodations

Launch counselors work with students and workers to assist with:

  • Applying for disability services.
  • College or course registration.
  • Resume writing and career assessment testing for those with disabilities.
  • Finding job opportunities that can honor special accommodations needs.
